Little Blue Heron in the Treetop by Debra Martz This was a rarity for me to see one of these herons fly to the treetop and land. Having lived southern Texas along the gulf, I saw plenty of these birds but they would fly into a marsh or wetland area and do their wade fishing. Now living in Northern Oklahoma I was both surprised when I spotted this one in flight and even more surprised by it going up into this tall tree for landing. So now I know that even though they are year around birds of all the gulf coast, some go a bit north during breeding season which some of the north includes about 2/3s of Oklahoma.
