Description
Male Northern Cardinal by Debra Martz I watched this male cardinal for a while as it would hop off this low branch to the ground to forage and then return back to this limb time and again. A light, misty rain seemed to play a part in keeping its feathers a bit unruly but I like those light gray feathers showing through. Northern Cardinals are a very familiar bird with a wide spread range. I captured this image in south Texas at the South Llano River State Park.

I tried to find one in Florida, but never got a good shot. :{

Bummer, I have them in my backyard but they still get my attention when I'm out in other areas bird watching.
