Colorful Green Jay of South Texas by Debra Martz Seeing the Green Jay in South Texas will brighten any type of bad weather day for a birder! And this proved just that showing off its beautiful greens, blues and yellows. I captured this image at the Salineno Preserve while hiking along the trail next to the Rio Grande that separates Texas and Mexico. This colorful, tropical bird is found primarily in Mexico and South America,and just makes its way into the United States in southern Texas.
