Description
Flying Pretty Roseate Spoonbill by Debra Martz
The Roseate Spoonbill is one of my favorite birds native to our coastal area in south Texas. Why my favorite? For their pink coloring and unique shaped bill resembling a spoon...thus their name! They are gorgeous at a distance while somewhat bizarre up close!! :) They are locally common in coastal Texas, Florida and SW Louisiana.
Photographed at Charlie's Pasture Nature Reserve in Port Aransas, Texas, I've applied a textured background with some added color as it was an overcast day making the sky white.
