Singing Its Morning Song by Debra Martz Most times when I arrive early morning to Estero Llano Grande State Park I'm greeted with the singing of the Long-billed Thrasher in the parking lot...but not on this morning. I headed on down the walkway to the observation deck and shortly after looking across the pond I heard the sound so I followed it to the back and out to the where the first trail begins. There it was perched at the very top of the tree singing its loud and beautiful song. This is a wonderful state park in Weslaco, south Texas and only 4 miles from the border of Mexico. ©Debra Martz
