Snowy Egret Watching From the Rail by Debra Martz Below either side of the railing is water with just what it is looking for...movement of small fish to dine upon. It often employs a sit-and-wait technique to capture their food. Soon after I fired off a few shots it was over the edge catching a fish...bummer that I missed that one! Once in the water it shuffled its feet to stir up more food. But it was too deep in the cattails to clearly capture any of those antics. This railing is of the weathered and well worn boardwalk over a marshy area in Port Aransas, TX. A favorite of bird watchers and nature lovers alike. I even overheard a visitor comment, "this is way better than going to a zoo where they are all enclosed!" I couldn't agree more!
