Quiet and Peaceful by Debra Martz Actually those are not the two words that most would use to describe Garner State Park in the Hill Country of Texas. Crowds so large gather at this park that the gates close when at capacity in the summer! And it was crowded on this August afternoon. Just the opposite direction from where I'm standing there are hundreds of people splashing in the Frio River, swinging from ropes in trees, floating on innertubes and any other type of float you can imagine and there are even paddle boats.
