Description
Buff-bellied Hummingbird Catching the Light By Debra Martz Surrounded by lush trees and beautiful nature, the afternoon sun made its way through an opening to add a beautiful glow to this hummingbird. The Buff-bellied Hummingbird is a resident and breeds near the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, from south Texas to Mexico. Evidence shows that it also disperses to the northeast from its breeding areas in south Texas. This non-breeding area has been found in the north-northeast coast of Texas and further east across the coast of southern Louisiana. This northerly movement is unique among North American hummingbirds.
Captured along the trail in Estero Llano Grande State Park in southern Texas.
