Ruffled Around the Neck by Debra Martz With some light making its way through the foliage of the trees, it brings out the iridescence of the green feathering and red color of the bill...not to mention the light adding a twinkle to the eye of this Buff-bellied Hummingbird. Not sure why it ruffled its feathers around its neck and top of its head but I like the extra characteristic! That ruffling added to my enjoyment of watching and capturing some images of it on April 10th in the Tropical Zone of Estero Llano Grande State Park, Texas.
