Description
American White Pelican Drifting No2 by Debra Martz A day trip to the Great Salt Plains State Park provided ample opportunities to photograph these migrating Pelicans as they head south for their wintering grounds. A few dozen were drifting just above the spillway area and 100s more flew low over the waters in the distance.
I've applied textures with digital paint brushes to the water but masked the pelican to keep it true to its color and details.
This lake is located in Northern Oklahoma near the town of Jet.
Scientific name: Pelecanus erythrorhynchos
