Description
The ruffle of the American White Pelican's feathers shows just how strong the wind was blowing. I grew up in SE Oklahoma in the rollings hills. Not until much later in life, after recently moving to the northern plains of Oklahoma, would I come to really understand the portion of the song, "Oklahoma,
Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain." And does it ever!!
Captured on the Salt Fork below the spillway of the Great Salt Plains lake near Jet, Oklahoma....on a very windy day!!
