Description
Clear Wing Fly on Blooming Rabbitbrush by Debra Martz In late summer and early fall the Rabbit Brush turns the landscapes of northern New Mexico a vibrant yellow. It's beautiful and a great source of food for insects which in turn attracts birds. I called this Clear Wing simply because its wings are transparent. Sort of stumped on the type after researching but believe it is a type of Syrphid Fly (Syrphidae). Do you know what it is? Drop a note in the comments if you do.
