Description
Winter Yellows of South Texas by Debra Martz
On a beautiful January day full of sunshine and warmth, I came across these blooming flowers while walking at Charlie's Nature Preserve in Port Aransas, Texas. I'm not certain of their name, perhaps Butterweed, but I thought they were a beautiful sight to behold for a winter day. Charlie's Preserve is a series of boardwalks over marsh broken up by paths winding through natural growths of shrubs, grasses, wildflowers and weeds! Yes, even weeds, which have a beauty all their own! It's also an area to look for birds and other wildlife along the trails with a few caution signs to "beware of snakes" which might be sunning just where you are walking!!
