Broomsedge Bluestem grasses are not great for livestock or wildlife, however, it does provide protected areas for birds that nest on the ground.
Charlie's Pasture is a nature preserve in Port Aransas, Texas. There you will find paved trails, dirt trails, boardwalks over the wetlands and observation decks. At the end of the 1.5 mile boardwalk you find yourself back on a dirt path leading to a multi level observation deck. I didn't recall this plant/tall grass on the trail in the previous years but then again the past few years have been drought ridden. What a beautiful sight to see all this growth after the rains we have had in south Texas this year.
