Artist's Description
Pink Plumeria Digital Painting by Debra Martz One of the many tropical plants that grow where I live on North Padre Island of Corpus Christi, Texas . From my original photograph, I've added digital radiance to some edges, textured with an overlay and used digital brush strokes to create this floral artwork.
These are also known as Lei flowers and Frangipani, which are actually small trees that are native to tropical regions. The flowers of these beautiful plants are used in making traditional Hawaiian leis. With that said, I don't know of any events or times that Leis are made with them here in south Texas...I wonder why not?
