Ladder-backed Woodpecker At the Top by Debra Martz This little woodpecker gave me a run for my money! HA! From tree to tree and back again. Finally deciding on one tree but deep in the limbs. I kept wishing it would move out on a limb so the view was not so obstructed! And boy did it...all the way to the very top. I could hardly keep my balance with my head tilted back as far as possible. It also gave me a slight nod that allowed my to see a very small patch of red on its crown leading me to believe this is a juvenile...male or female...as both have some red at this stage. The adult male has a much larger red crown while the audlt female does not.
My favorite moments are times spent outdoors. I love bird watching, going on hikes and appreciating nature that is all around us. Therefore, much of my photography involves nature and wildlife. I, also, enjoy traveling and have galleries with images from several states in the USA and a few European countries. Any image that might have the Fine Art America watermark will NOT print on the purchased product. Thank you for visiting my online gallery!
