Description
Drift Wood and Whip Coral by Debra Martz
...........................
All types of things drift in from sea. There are the pleasant and natural items such as this drift wood and yellow whip coral. I must admit that years ago when I would see the yellow whip coral I thought it was twine as it sometimes comes in in large mounds but later learned that it was one of a variety of coral from the sea. The yellow whip is most common but sometimes the more rare red appears on the beach. I have even found it attached and growing on shells and sand dollars when exploring the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in the Texas coastal bend.
