Description
White Crowned Sparrow by Debra Martz This sparrow winters over much of North America. I spotted this little beauty, bathing in the sunlight, along the Buck Ranch trail of South Llano River State Park of Texas in late November.
Cool Fact from AllAboutBirds.org "Because male White-crowned Sparrows learn the songs they grow up with and typically breed close to where they were raised, song dialects frequently form. Males on the edge of two dialects may be bilingual and able to sing both dialects."
Scientific name: Zonotrichia leucophrys
