White American Pelicans Nestled Together for Warmth by Debra Martz The sun was out but this December day was cold in Northern Oklahoma. While the majority of the American White Pelicans migrate much farther south for the winter, there are always some (in a variety of birds) that break the "rule" to migrate. This group was below the spillway of the Great Salt Plains Lake near Jet, Oklahoma and others were out on the main part of the lake.
