Description
Vermilion Flycatcher by Debra Martz What a treat this beautiful little bird gave by posing for a few seconds! I had been on a trail looking for just this bird but had not seen any. Then as we were driving back to our campsite in South Llano River State Park, it flew right in front of us. We stopped and I got out and walked slowly across the road. It stayed in the area for a minute or so, moving from tree to tree before departing. This was my closest shot of this male Vermilion Flycatcher using a 600mm zoom.
SCIENTIFIC: Pyrocephalus rubinus
