Water soaked from its bath time! LOL
This was my first sighting of an Olive Sparrow and I spent some time in my bird book and online determining its ID. While doing this research I felt lucky to get this image when I read this.... "Preferring dense brush or chaparral, Olive Sparrows are easy to hear but difficult to see, as they forage on the ground in shady areas."
But this one came out of the brush to some water for a drink and stayed for a while for a bath! See image "Olive Sparrow Profile" in my Feathered Friend Gallery to see how it looked before taking the dunk and splashing like crazy!
This bird can be found in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and far southern Texas. I captured this image in south Texas at the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge on the Fiddlewood Trail.
