Description
The Fred Drummond Home by Debra Martz Fred Drummond, at the age of 20, arrived in the United States in 1884 from his native land of Scotland. He dreamed of becoming a rancher but his initial venture failed due to his lack of knowledge of the business. After working for a mercantile as a clerk in St. Louis, he moved to Pawhuska, OK where he lived on the Osage Reservation and worked for an Osage Mercantile as a licensed trader. In 1890 he married Addie Gentner from Coffeyville, KS and by 1895 they had saved enough to buy a partnership in the company where he worked. He later would buy out a trader in Hominy, Oklahoma. As a reflection of financial success, Fred and Addie built this Victorian style three story house in 1905 in Hominy.
