Streets of Pompeii by Debra Martz
...........................
The first disaster to hit Pompeii was an earthquake in 62 AD, leaving it a heap of rubble. However, the Pompeians who survived rebuilt and soon restored the city's industrial and commercial activities as it arose from the ruins. While completing and extending temples the 2nd disaster struck when Vesuvius, thought to be extinct, erupted in 79AD. The inferno continued for 3 days and then all was silent. While some areas around rebuilt, Pompeii remained mostly buried 15-20 feet deep for nearly 1800 years. The first ruins properly uncovered were about 1600 years later and it would be another 150 years before it was said that the city had been rediscovered.

They say Vesuvius is close to another eruption. Hope the result won't be the same as it was in Roman times. Congrats on your sale.
Debra Martz replied:
Oh no, hope that doesn't happen. If it does, I too hope it won't be as serious!
