Statue of Liberty at Night ©Debra Martz We left out of Brooklyn, NY on a cruise ship shortly after an October sunset. As we watched the departure, we were lucky to have beautiful night views from the comfort of our balcony. First was the Lower Manhattan skyline and as we turned in the New York Harbor there was the Statue of Liberty with a partial NJ skyline behind her.
Her crown has seven points that represent rays of light and also the seven seas and continents; the original name for the statue is “Liberty Enlightening the World.
