Salve Regina University Newport Rhode Island ©Debra Martz The red sandstone building is McAuley Hall which sits in the heart of the university. It was originally the centerpiece of the Vinland Estate, completed in 1883 for tobacco heiress Catherine Lorillard Wolfe. Now it is a major part of the campus along Newport's Cliff Walk where it houses classrooms, faculty offices, and administrative space. In the spring, Salve Regina's Commencement events are held on the expansive lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved
