Reddish Egret - Wild and Shaggy by Debra Martz I had been watching a number of coastal birds at Charlies Pasture in Port Aransas, Texas. There was a mix of many species feeding and getting along well in a small area of water...from Spoonbills, Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Black-necked Stilts, Willets, etc. And then came this Reddish Egret to join the group but instead of fishing in their characteristic style it just stood and stared at the others....and then very suddenly ruffled its head feathers and gave off a crazy and wild look!!
