Rainbow Bridge Back View by Debra Martz
Made it up and over and down to the back side. But made it just in time to set up for a few shots but no time to linger....the clock was ticking away on the time left to be back at the boat.
And no, you cannot just walk right under the Rainbow Bridge to get to the back side. Not even allowed to stand under it. The trail you see at the bottom curves to the right and goes back up the hillside, returning on the same trail used to hike around the natural bridge / arch.
I noticed a plaque on the rock canyon wall to the right. "To commemorate the Piute Nasjah Begay who first guided the white man to Nonnezoshi August 1909.
What a full day it was on this 100 mile round-trip on Lake Powell to the Rainbow Bridge from Wahweap Marina near Page, AZ. Once docked near this arch, the walk can vary from 1 to 1.5 miles depending on the water level. The views during the boat ride are also spectacular!

Lake Powell. Took a 100 mile roundtrip by boat from Wahweap Marina near Page, Arizona. Then when the boat docks, it is about a 1 mile walk to get here.
