Description

I was on the Brazos Summit in the San Juan Mountain range in northern New Mexico taking in the expansive views when my eyes moved to all the wildflowers. I walked over to get some close up shots of the flowers when I spotted this black and white moth. The first IDs generated by Google were that of a "Wild Forget-Me-Not Moth" but the range was wrong. Further searching with iNaturalist came up with the "Police Car Moth" and in the correct range. aka Gnophaela vertimculata
