Northern Waterthrush by Debra Martz
This waterthrush was passing through Port Aransas, TX on its Spring migration. This area gets a large variety of bids during migration, which in turn leads to me getting new birds from year to year. This was one of those, as we birders call, LIFERS! I followed it around the pond in several areas for several hours as it spent most of its time in the shallow, muddy water and in and under twigs and branches. Finally it flew up to a low branch and stayed just long enough for me to get a few shots.
