This iconic memorial is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota by Custer State Park.
This was one of those sights I had long wished to see and finally that wish became reality. As is often said, pictures can't do it justice; you have to be there to grasp the enormous size of this sculpture. The faces of the four United State Presidents. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt & Abraham Lincoln, are scaled to men that would stand 465 feet tall!
Gutzon Borglum and 400 workers sculpted the colossal facesof the four presidents between Oct 4, 1927 and Oct 31, 1941
