Description
Migration of Seagulls Through Oklahoma by Debra Martz What a spectacular sight to see and what a surprise to see it!! I first heard Sandhill Cranes and Canadian Geese over the sound of the diesel engine so we stopped the truck, got out and we were totally wowed at the number of birds in the sky...not to mention the extremely loud sound coming from the 1000s and 1000s of migrating birds. I identified Franklin Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls but there might have been other species in the mix. First time I've ever witnessed such a sight. The day was October 16, about 10:30am, while driving through the Great Salt Plains State Park in northern Oklahoma. Every direction I turned, the sky was filled with birds!!!
