Description
Middleton Place consisted of the original home with a North Flanker and South Flanker added to each side in later years. The original family home (c1705) and the North Flanker (c1755) were burned by Union troops in 1865 and then leveled by the Great Earthquake of 1886. The South Flanker now serves as the house museum with furniture and art of the Middleton family. I took this photograph in May of 2014.
