Description
Green Jay by Debra Martz
Bird watching is my hobby and always a thrill to see a bird in my own stomping grounds that previously I've had to travel a few hundred miles south to see! I spotted this Green Jay at the Hazel Bazemore park in Corpus Christi, Texas. My field guide shows that they do come this far north but it was a first for me to see and photograph one here in my home town! They are fairly skittish, coming out into the open and quickly flying back into the safety of the thick trees.
Common tropical bird primarily in Mexico, Central America and South America, the Green Jay just makes its way into the United States in southern Texas.

Thank you so much! In the far southern reaches of Texas they can be seen...or farther south into Mexico....
