Description
Greater Roadrunner Ready to Pounce by Debra Martz I could not see what it was sneaking up on and was hoping for something exciting like a snake or lizard. But once it made the hit, it was only a tiny insect...oh well, another day I might be so lucky to see a better snag of prey! At least I got my bird photograph!
Greater Roadrunners are large cuckoos and also known by the name of Chaparral and scientific name Geococcyx californianus
Captured at the Great Salt Plainis State Park in Northern Oklahoma

Such a cool capture! I've lived in NM almost 6 months and have yet to spy a roadrunner. l/f
