Description
Great Kiskadee at Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park of Texas by Debra Martz
Many of the Texas state parks which are popular for bird watching will have bird blinds scattered throughout. This is one such park, and how I managed to get this close of a shot.
Great Kiskadees are flycatchers, and as such, are constantly on the move. They will fly to an open branch and swiftly depart to catch an insect mid-air. They are also known to perch over water and swoop down on small fish and crustaceans. They are widespread from Mexico through South America and also make their way in to the US in southern Texas.

Stunning capture, Debra, of great beauty. I love this image. And btw, I love your new profile pic. Your beautiful and identified bird image has been featured by Wild Birds Of The World, a nature photography group. L/F
