Great Blue Heron - The Poser by Debra Martz
Enjoyed watching this heron at the beach. It was a breezy day with the wind catching the feathers and plumage. Not quite sure what is going on with it's "ornate" plume on its head! At least it looked a little better when this poser turned and faced the south wind. Unlike most times when walking the beach, this heron, I'll call the poser, stayed its ground and didn't fly away! Made me very happy!
It's a very common, very large bird with a range extended all across the United States and further north and south. Scientific name: Ardea Herodias
