Giant Pink Hibiscus by Debra Martz I had never seen this type of hibiscus until I visited my good friend in north Texas. Most of the flowers were the size of a dinner plate! I put my hand up to the flower to compare for size and my hand could not cover from one edge to another. I looked for more information online after returning home and found that the flowers can be as large as 12 inches across! They are different from the tropical hibiscus as they are winter-hardy; described as tough, hardy shrubs that light up gardens as far north as Zone 4.
