Finally Found That Snipe by Debra Martz
I'm sure we've all gone "Snipe Hunting" in our younger years and then thought how funny it was when we were a bit older and pulled the same prank on those younger!
Though the long tradition of "snipe hunt" pranks at summer camp has convinced many people otherwise, the Wilson's Snipes are not made-up creatures. They are real and here is the proof. I must say I quite enjoyed "capturing" my first snipe...no paper sack required!!!
The plump, long-billed birds are among the most widespread shorebirds in North America. They can be tough to see thanks to their cryptic brown and buff coloration and secretive nature.
I spotted this Wilson's Snipe (Gallinago delicata) at the edge of the marsh blending in with the dried reeds in Port Aransas, Texas.

My favorite moments are times spent outdoors. I love bird watching, going on hikes and appreciating nature that is all around us. Therefore, much of my photography involves nature and wildlife. I, also, enjoy traveling and have galleries with images from several states in the USA and a few European countries.
