Description
Female Pyrrhuloxia at Falcon State Park of Texas Such enjoyment for me watching this beautiful female while relaxing in my chair at our campsite. She was enjoying a bath in a bucket of water we had and would fly back up to the tree and shake off the excess. The female lacks in coloring the bold red face mask and red belly of the male. Closely related to the Northern Cardinal and often referred to as the Desert Cardinal and is a resident bird ot the American Southwest and Northern Mexico.
