It might be the first of Spring but I saw several Kestrels still in part of there wintering area here in south Texas. Perhaps they have word of the snows that are still falling in the north!! The LACK of the slate blue wings distinguish this as the American Kestrel female. It is considered a "dainty" falcon having 2 distinct facial stripes. It is the most common Falcon of North America.
