Description
Dust Bowl House At Cimarron Heritage Center Boise City Oklahoma On the ground of the Cimarron Heritage Center museum is a Dust Bowl House from the 1930s.
"The dust bowl house was first the Liberty School House west of Boise City between Felt and Wheeless Oklahoma. It was closed for several years and Clarence Roberts bought it for his brother in law and his family, They divided it into three rooms and lived there thru the dust bowl years. In 2014 Troy Baker offered it to the Cimarron Heritage Center and it became our dust bowl house."
The Cimarron Heritage Center is also responsible for providing access to Autograph Rock, a historic Santa Fe Trail campground that features ruts and a cliff wall full of traveler signatures located on a private ranch. The directions they provided us were easy to follow and we enjoyed this additional piece of history out in the country. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved
