Drive Through the Salt Plains of Oklahoma by Debra Martz ...drive through if you are daring! After a rain, you need 4 wheel drive to travel this road of salt, clay, sand and mud puddles! But why would you? The answer is because you are allowed to dig in certain areas for selenite crystals with an hourglass shape. This is part of the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge located west of Jet, Ok and south of Cherokee, OK. Digital painting created using my original photograph
