Just one of many stops along the trace for scenic views; this stop was Water Valley Overlook at the 411-mile marker.
The Natchez Trace is a National Parkway 444 miles from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN. But you can travel it in either direction and get on or off at many exits along the way. It's a beautiful drive filled with historical stops and very leisurely, which is difficult to find in the way of travel anymore. The speed limit ranges from 40 to 50mph on a two-lane highway. PS: Don't plan to drive it in a day....grab a guide book and stop often to enjoy the history, trails, and views!
