Description
We arrived early enough to see thousands of Sandhill Cranes as they began to lift off the waters of Sandy Creek Bay. Some would continue their flight out for the day while others would just relocate to the flock in the waters.
A group of cranes has many collective nouns, including a "construction", "dance", "sedge", "siege", and "swoop" of cranes.
Captured at the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge near Jet and Cherokee, Oklahoma.
