Description
Dark-eyed Junco On a Snowy Day by Debra Martz There are several reasons birds fluff their feathers but in the very cold weather it is a way to help stay warm. Fluffing their feathers allows them to trap warm air from body heat; the more trapped air, the warmer the bird. This Dark-eyed Junco is extremely fluffy so I imagine it is quite warm.
Digital modifications applied for a painterly, textured artwork.
