Description
Chipmunk On Its Favorite Stump by Debra Martz
Last September we spent a week in Chama, New Mexico right on the Chama River. Several chipmunks would play on the rocks and stumps and tease our dog, Latte', by moving really close to her (she was leashed and couldn't reach their area). They would make clicking sounds and flick their tails which would make her jump up and at that point the chipmunk would scamper to this stump which was an even safer distance from Latte'. As the week went by, there were times of the day that none of the chipmunks would be out....that's when we noticed/heard our dog sitting and looking for them and making her own clicking sound as if trying to call them out to play!! The wonders of animals, domesticated and undomesticated!!!
