Chachalaca in the Retama by Debra Martz What can I say? It was just the right moment to look up and enjoy the wonderful yellows of the Retama tree blooming so beautifully in April! And, oh my goodness, perched there and perfectly framing itself was what many refer to as one of the ugliest of all birds. Well it wasn't ugly on this day, at least not to me!
I captured this image near the visitor's center at Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco, TX.
