Beaks to the West ©Debra Martz We moved to another area of the lake to try for some closer images. Almost all of these Pelicans have their beaks facing west. Trying to not look into the morning light perhaps. It was 8:38am and the sun was rather bright.

Captured at the Great Salt Plains Lake in northern Oklahoma during fall migration.
