Description
Bandit Masked Raccoon by Debra Martz The Bandit-masked and ring-tailed raccoons can be found most anywhere. though not always seen as they are a nocturnal animal but will forage during the day if hungry or feeding a young family. This one emerged from a small inlet along Eagle Roost Trail in the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge in northern Oklahoma. Many believe if raccoons are seen in the day, they are rabid but this one showed no unusual behavior so I think it was just in need of food. And it soon carried on in the direction it was heading before it detected me and I continued in the direction I had been hiking as well.
