Description
Axis Deer - Two Does by Debra Martz The Axis Deer was introduced to Texas in 1932. They are native to India where they are called Chital or Cheetal. They are also referred to as spotted deer. I captured this image on a summer day in South Llano River State Park near Junction, Texas. On one morning, a herd of aproximately 40 moved through this wooded area at our campsite. That was a wow moment!!
